Patient Diagnostic Mix Table - Enhancement
We have changed the criteria for including a claim in a patient count for metrics in the Patient Diagnostic Mix by Distinct Patients table. This change impacts the counts in the columns identified in the colored box, (See Screenshot). This table will be found on the Analyze Page under the Utilization Tab.
In previous data sets, we placed a patient count into a quarter based on the date of admission to the selected facility. Starting with the 2019-Q2 data, we place a patient count in the quarter of discharge instead.
This change will only impact patients who are admitted in one quarter and discharged in the next. So, for example, a patient admitted March 30 and discharged on April 3 will now be counted in Q2 - April, May, June, instead of Q1 - January, February, March.
Patients Discharged with Home Health Instructions table - Enhancement
We’ve added a new row to the Patients Discharged with Home Health Instructions table on the Facility Detail page. The row, "Patients Resuming Home Care," distinctly breaks out the number and percentage of patients who resumed a home health episode in comparison to those who were and were not admitted to home health for the selected facility. As with the other rows in the table, we provide county and state averages so users can compare benchmark metrics such as 30-day readmission rates for the patient population.
This table will be found on a facility Analyze page in the Utilization tab.
